CO-WORKING SPACE ESSENTIALS

For a new generation that wants to break away from corporate monotony, co-working spaces are a growing trend and they’re here to stay! Have you ever wondered what goes behind the creation of a successful co-working space?

As interior designers, in the past few months, we have met quite a few clients who want to develop co-working spaces in areas that are too crammed to evoke character and we’re going to tell you what we told them – we should not compromise on the character or intrinsic nature of a co-working space!

Read further to know more about what a co-working space really needs so you can share your feedback and ideas with us too. Let’s get started.

  1. Brand it!
The brand is the identity associated with a business for a long time if not forever. We help our clients curate a logo and brand name that puts them out there on the market and says, “We are here, and we are ready!”
Your idea of the perfect co-working space should reflect in your brand.
  2. Quirk it up!
Don’t leave any stone unturned in translating your brand identity to your interiors. Let your design add character to your space in the plan as well as the look. Create an experience which speaks for itself and as a person walks in, make them feel what you want them to feel – good!
  3. Energy is what you need
As we’ve established, design is not only what one sees, it is also what one feels -so add an element of freshness and a dash of energy to your space!
Through the use of colors, breakout areas and an interactive design, you can create a holistic experience for your users – this will make them come back not because they need to but because they want.

  4. Create multi-functionality!
Users of co-working spaces need opportunities to network, interact and relax while they work – and this calls for multi-functionality.
Give your users a breather – add breakout areas and multi-purpose spaces that can be used for presentations, discussions, talks, meetings as well as some fun weekend activities.
Don’t let it daunt you, small areas too can be designed creatively to be dynamic!
  5. Now we all need coffee, don’t we?
To complete the experience of a co-worker, a pantry area or a little café is a must! Even if your co-working space is a small one, it will not only increase the efficiency but also add to the energy when one walks up to the pantry and interacts with others, creating a sense of community.
  6. Last but not least – keep it low-maintenance!
A clutter-free design can be achieved using a clean layout plan and it can be made maintenance-free by the choice of materials used. We prefer using laminate, vinyl, concrete and stainless steel – all of which makes a co-working space super easy to maintain!
